Rhomar Showcases New Maintenance Solutions at the Public Works Expo

When public works professionals gathered at the APWA Public Works Expo, Rhomar Industries was there front and center – speaking the same no-nonsense language as the road crews, fleet managers, and city engineers in attendance. Throughout the year, Rhomar supports and attends various DOT, fleet, and public works conferences to exhibit its products, and this expo was a prime opportunity to share the latest and greatest in maintenance solutions. For those who couldn’t make it to the show, here’s a recap of what Rhomar brought to the table and why it matters to your operations.

Hands-On Demos and New Products

At the Rhomar booth, industry pros got to get their hands dirty (in a good way) with live demonstrations of our maintenance products. One highlight was the debut of SNAKE-IT, dubbed “The Ultimate Sewer Opener.” This new solution uses a special heat-producing chemical reaction to cut through tough clogs – it literally melts away grease and roots clogging municipal sewer lines . Sewer and wastewater maintenance crews were excited about how this could save them time on those notoriously stubborn restaurant grease blockages.

For the streets and highways folks, we showcased our improved ENVIRO-SLIDE Ultra release agent. Road crews tried out ENVIRO-SLIDE on demo equipment to see how easily it lets asphalt and debris slide off truck beds and spreaders. No more pounding or scraping to get dumping beds clear – materials simply slip off, which means faster turnaround and less wear on your equipment. We also had our winter arsenal on display, including the STAND-UP liquid de-icer (a formula that stays liquid in sub-zero temps) and NEUTRO-WASH salt neutralizer for post-storm cleanup. These demos drew a crowd, especially from snow-fighting veterans looking for any edge in prolonging the life of their plow trucks.

Connecting with the Public Works Community

Beyond the products, what made this expo special was the conversation. We heard first-hand from foremen and maintenance supervisors about the challenges they’re facing – from budget constraints to newer environmental regulations. (Believe us, topics like reducing salt usage and avoiding EPA fines for wash water runoff came up a lot.) It was a great chance to share how Rhomar’s approach to “environmentally responsible product technology” can help meet those challenges. Our team enjoyed explaining the science behind things like rubberized undercoatings and polymer rust converters in plain terms, and how these tools can make a crew’s job safer and easier. Many folks were surprised to learn that with products like our rust converter, they could eliminate the need for sandblasting altogether – a tip that certainly raised some eyebrows and eager questions.

We also took the opportunity to gather feedback and ideas. Public works professionals are nothing if not resourceful, and their on-the-job insights often inspire our next innovations. Whether it was a fleet mechanic from a small town talking about prolonging the life of 20-year-old snow plows, or a big-city public works director looking for safer degreasers for his crew, each conversation helped us understand how we can serve you better. This kind of face-to-face interaction is exactly why Rhomar attends these events. We’re not a huge conglomerate; we’re a team that values listening to the people who actually use our products in the field.

Looking Ahead

The 2024 Public Works Expo was a success, and we’re already gearing up for the next round of conferences and expos. (If you’re planning to be at the North American Snow Conference or PWX 2025, keep an eye out for the Rhomar booth!). For those who met us in Atlanta, it was a pleasure trading stories and solutions. And if you missed us, don’t worry – you can always reach out to our reps or catch us at the next event. We’ll continue to roll out innovative, workhorse solutions that help road crews, fleet maintenance teams, and public works departments do their jobs more efficiently and safely. After all, our mission is to make your tough jobs a little easier with products that get the job done without any nonsense – and we’re excited to keep that momentum going into next year and beyond.

Stay tuned for more company updates and product news on our blog. Until then, keep safe, keep up the good work, and remember that the Rhomar team has your back on the maintenance front!
